Incoming 8th Grader
You have been recommended as a possible candidate and/or a returner for the Basketball Program at
Newport Harbor High School. As the Varsity Coach, I would like to continue our winning tradition
with players such as you.
Your next opportunity to participate for the Newport Harbor High School Basketball Program will be
this summer.
1. Summer School Class
- A. Class will run from June 28th – July 30th (5 weeks).
Monday – Friday: 7:30 am – 10:00 am
- B. Jump and Weightlifting training will be available.
- C. The class will include individual fundamentals and team fundamentals.
- D. The cost for the class is $245.00

2. Summer League…Tournaments
A. Players will have a chance to play in the Estancia Summer League.
B. Games will also be on selected weekends, at sites still to be determined and in Tournament formats.
3. Miscellaneous Information
A. Players who wish to participate in football and basketball: There is NO conflict on
time for the summer school class. Basketball is 7:30-10:00 am. Football is from
10:30am-12:30pm OR just the opposite for the upper classmen. Any conflicts with
times can be worked out with advanced communication from the athlete to the
coaches.
B. Physicals are required and can be completed on June 10th at Dr. Tischler’s office OR
at your doctor before summer starts.
C. Insurance – To participate in any athletic program you must be covered by your own
Insurance OR purchase school insurance ($29 – low).
